Flue Gas Analysis, Thermography and Other Measurement Needs of a Cement Plant

The Indian cement industry produces quality cement strictly as per the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) specifications and its quality is comparable with the best in the world.
To maintain its high quality and processes, Testo brings for Cement Industry best-in-class measurement solutions.

Flue Gas Analysis:
The diagram shows typical measuring points of gas analysis in a cement plant.

• Rotary Kiln Inlet - Monitor CO, O2, NO & SO2
• Calciner - Monitor CO, O2
• Cyclone Preheater - Monitor CO, O2, NO
• Preheater Exit - Monitor CO, CO2
• Upstream Electronic Filter - Monitor CO, O2
• Coal Mill -Monitor O2
• Dust Filter after Coal Mill - Monitor CO
• Stack - Monitor CO, CO2, O2, NOX & SO2

Testo Flue Gas Analyser 350 is the best suited portable emission analyser for a Cement plant.
• It can analyze upto a maximum of 6 gases, out of CO, O2, CO2, NO , NO2, SO2, HC, H2S
• Peltier cooled gas preparation system
• Special hose for SOx/NOx measurement
• Dual filter systems to handle dusty gases
• Automatic disposal of condensate and slurry
• Easy emission software for complete data management

Thermography:
Thermal imagers are of great significance in preventive & predictive maintenance, quality assurance and production monitoring.  A thermal profile of an object helps detect anomalies easily and in time.

Mechanical Maintenance:
Head development, especially in mechanical components can indicate strain caused by friction, incorrect adjustment, excessive tolerances of the components or insufficient lubrication. With its high temperature resolution, thermal imagers testo 876 and testo 882 provide an exact diagnosis.

Electrical Maintenance:
In low, medium and high voltage systems, infrared thermography allows an evaluation of the level of warming, thus minimizes the danger of fire and avoids costly downtimes.

Thermograhy is equally useful for Kiln Refractory Studies.

Compressed Air:
• Monitoring consumption of compressed air with a compressed air flow meter and thereby optimizing its usage.
• Checking for dryness of the compressed air at drier outlet with dew point transmitter.

Pressure & Velocity:
• Differential pressure measurement in preheater duct
• Velocity and dP measurement across baghouse filters

Temperature:
• Non-contact temperature monitoring at different points on the rotating kiln
• Temperature measurement at different zones in the preheater
